Hello everyone! I’m Ama Ro, a dedicated 3D artist passionate about achieving my goals. Today, I’m excited to share a quick tip with you. While my work often involves the basic workflows of creating 3D projects, I’d like to highlight a specific technique: creating paint-overs and how they can be incredibly useful.
Enhancing Efficiency in Sculpting and Modeling Processes
When modeling a character, I find it useful to create paint-overs to guide me with general details. This approach helps me visualize my ideas clearly, making the sculpting and modeling process more efficient.
For instance, when I created my Vi model, my goal was to stay true to the original concept while modifying certain details. To achieve this, I gathered references and sketched designs to assist with the sculpting.
This method was particularly useful when creating her hair. Establishing guidelines for the flow and shape of the hair, while referencing real hair, was fundamental in achieving a realistic look.
