Artwork: Ox – Cinematic character
Hey everyone! Meet Ox. I worked on him in my spare time here and there, and it was honestly a super refreshing project. The goal was to get back into things I hadn’t touched in a while like texturing in Substance, but especially grooming in XGen. Creating the dreads was a real challenge, I tested out a bunch of workflows until I finally landed on a look I liked. I’m happy with how it turned out, especially considering the time limit I gave myself.
Lately, I’ve been trying to embrace the “Done is better than perfect” mindset. I give myself a time limit, do my best, and then move on to the next project. This way, I stay flexible, keep learning, and avoid spending weeks obsessing over a single character.
Workflow: Zbrush for sculpting, Maya for scene setup and V-ray for rendering. XYZ for skin details and Substance for tattoos and imperfections

Software Used: Zbrush, V-Ray, Substance 3D Painter, Maya
